In this conversation, the artist Manuela Solano (Mexico City, 1987) will share aspects of her artistic production, which explores the formation of identity, memory and sense of humor.

After studying her degree in Visual Arts at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving “La Esmeralda”, the artist studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, France.

He has presented his work individually at Dundee Contemporary Arts (2022), Pivô, São Paulo (2021), Kunsthalle Lissabon (2021), the Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami (2018) and at the Carrillo Gil Art Museum (2016).

Alien Queen/Strange Paradise, at the Tamayo Museum (2025), is the largest solo exhibition he has presented so far.

Solano has participated in group exhibitions at the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter (2022), the Palais de Tokyo (2019), the New Museum (2018) and the Chopo University Museum (2014). His work is part of the collections of ICA and the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, the ARCO Foundation in Madrid and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
